Our single-shaft plastic shredder machines are exceptionally sturdy and potent devices, adept at effectively shredding a diverse array of materials, including plastic, wood, paper, textile, tires, packaging, biomass, and beyond. Specifically engineered to handle thick, tough-to-cut materials like plastic blocks and sheets, buckets and drums, assorted timber, extruded polymer pipes, and more, our shredders excel in their task.
Many of our robust plastic shredders are deployed in demanding sectors such as municipal solid waste processing plants, material recovery facilities (MRFs), and recycling facilities that manage commercial and industrial waste.
Working Principle
Our single-shaft plastic shredders employ distinctive square knives securely bolted onto a sizable, enclosed rotor in a staggered formation. Positioned with protruding corners, these square rotor knives work in conjunction with jagged-teeth knives within the cutting chamber, serving as stationary elements. Unlike plastic granulator machines, which operate at high speeds, our single-shaft shredders operate at a relatively quiet and slow pace, rotating between 60 to 100 rotations per minute.
Material fed into the shredder is pushed against the rotor by a hydraulic-assisted drawer, undergoing continuous cutting until reaching the desired size, as determined by a screen filter fitted beneath the cutting chamber. Shredding continues until the material is small enough to pass through this screen filter.
Given the demanding tasks our single-shaft plastic shredder machines often encounter, their frames and structures utilize high-thickness sheets and tubular components. The square knives are reinforced and treated for durability, crafted from top-tier SKD11 steel (equivalent to D2 steel) to prevent dulling. Depending on your capacity requirements, we offer a range of standard single-shaft shredders for selection.
Designed with usability in mind, the plastic recycling machines we manufacture, including our single-shaft plastic shredders, feature motorized access to the cutting chamber and motor-assisted screen changes as standard equipment.
